Players are permitted to capture video, audio, and photographs at CATAN Championship Program events as long as the recording does not interfere with gameplay and complies with the following conditions:

  • Please be respectful of event staff and other players when photographing, videoing, or sound recording any part of the event.
  • Players may not distribute video on a live, or near live basis (no live streaming).
  • Recording of game play may capture images of the board but may not capture faces.
  • Recording devices should be mounted on a tripod or similar and must not be handled during the game.
  • Players may not comment during the game or address the “audience” at any point (i.e., no live-vlogging the game).
  • Non-game recording must take place outside of the tournament area and may not include individuals that do not give their express permission.
  • Players are responsible for following tournament staff instructions with respect to recording, and failure to comply with this policy or staff instructions may result in removal.
  • This recording policy is intended to ensure a positive experience for everyone and to minimize disruptions during CATAN Studio Championship Program events. They should not be viewed as an endorsement of a player’s subsequent use of recordings. Players are responsible for ensuring their use of any recordings they capture complies with the law.

NOTE: CATAN Qualifier events may be subject to additional requirements of the Tournament Organizer.
